Forged Heat Sink

forged heat sink
Forged heat sink is for application with limited space and high power density application where extruded heat sink is unable to dissipate the heat effectively. A cold forged heatsink used cold forging process to allow more fins per square mm. Fins can be done in plate, round and elliptical shapes.
Copper is recommended as it is softer and much easier to form hence result in higher production yield rate. Tooling design can be optimised to include simple secondary processes like through holes to reduce production lead time.
It is of higher cost in general, however, cost can be reduce significantly by using multiple cavity tooling for high mass production quantity order. In addition, forged heat sink of different height but same profile can be produced with same tooling to help reduced initial investment by our clients.
Common material used: AL6063 and CU1100
